Night Photography

Sun Aug 23, 2009, 5:26 PM
I have been learning a lot about taking photos in low light situations. I hate using flash it just makes the photo lose its moment. Its really important to use a Tri-pod and a remote or timer. Any movement will add blur to the photo even with a tri-pod use a 2 sec timer because when you press the shutter there is still movement. And if you using a Vibration Reduction lens turn it off because it will cause a slight blurriness to the photo. It is trying to prevent movement when there is none which blur your photos. VR works good in day situations not at night. Flash is good if it is bright behind the object you are taking a picture of. By using flash it will light up the object instead of showing a dark object and bright background. Your camera will take a reading of the bright background and not the dark object. Use a low aperture like f/2.8,f/3.5 or smaller if you have a really nice lens that can go lower for dark situations. If any body has any tips send them to me.

Thanks Don
